At Wembley Stadium on Saturday night, Tyson Fury will face Dillian Whyte in an attempt to retain the WBC and The Ring heavyweight titles he defeated Deontay Wilder for in February 2020.
This weekend, the self-styled “Gypsy King,” 33-year-old Tyson Fury, competes in the UK for the first time since 2018.
Fury, 33, was raised in a fighting family before pursuing a career of his own in the sport. He was born in Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester, in 1988.
As an amateur, he earned gold in the 2008 English National Championships and silver while competing for Ireland at the European Junior Championships.
His record as a professional since 2008 is 31-1-0, with his lone draw coming against Deontay Wilder in the first round of their historic trilogy.
He has had a long and illustrious career, rising to the title of world heavyweight champion in 2015 before being forced to step aside from the sport until his 2018 return. During this time, he earned the nickname “Gypsy King.”
