There are several generations. Which one you are talking about is not clear so I will generally answer this question.
Basically, what do we know about generation? What is a generation? And how different generations got their names is my topic of writing.
A “generation” is a collection of people born within the same time period, and generation names represent our biological urge to label ourselves. Sociologists and generation researchers frequently assign titles to age ranges through periods based on past social trends.
It seems strangely apt that talking about anything “millennial” was formerly a manner of implying the end of the world. Today, the term “millennial” commonly refers to a generation of persons born between the early 1980s and the early 2000s, depending on the definition.
The thirteenth generation of Americans, born between 1961 and 1981 and ranging in age from eleven to thirty-one. They’re dubbed “Baby Busters” by demographers, a moniker that deserves to be buried as soon as possible.
These boomers are called baby boomers now. So you can see the evolution of different generations right. That’s how the generations got their name.
