Daniel Robitaille, also known as Candyman, is a fictitious character that appears in the Candyman film series as the main antagonist. “The Forbidden,” a short fiction by Clive Barker published in 1985, gave birth to the character.
Of course, Barker’s short story provides the first explanation for the boogeyman’s moniker. The term “Candyman” comes from the fact that he smells like candy floss, also known as cotton candy, in every encounter witnesses have had with him.
