“Chimney” Howard Han is a firefighter paramedic with Station 118 of the Los Angeles Fire Department who appears on FOX’s 9-1-1. Kenneth Choi, a starring cast member on 9-1-1, makes his debut in the opening episode of the first season.

There are lots of controversies about why chimney got this nickname. There is no concrete answer. Even the show itself didn’t give any explanation about it.

Some people assume that as there have been numerous instances of idiots/crooks/pranksters becoming stuck in chimneys, and because chime is so little, he would be most apt to enter tight spots for rescues.
