Jack Stone was given the nickname “Serial Killer” by the media after committing a series of murders in the early 1990s. The nickname was used because of the number of victims Stone killed, as well as the media’s sensationalized coverage of the case.
Jack Stone, or the “serial killer” as he’s come to be known, has been convicted of murdering three women. But why do they call him a serial killer? Is it because he’s a man, and society is more willing to label men as killers? Or is it because he’s white, and we’re more likely to believe that white men are capable of such violence?
