A Los Angeles judge approved the request of the producer, rapper and fashion designer to legally change his name from Kanye Omari West to just Ye on October 18, 2021. There will be no middle name or last name in his name.
Kanye had spoken for the love of this name Ye many times previously. According to him, the origin of the name is biblical instead of being a shortening version of his current name.
In one radio interview, he opened up that Ye is the most common word that is used in the bible. The word refers to the meaning of You. Kanye means Only one, so he wanted to live the name Ye. He believed that the name would be a reflection of his good and bad, overall everything.
